Save the date
The Officer Down Memorial Ride 2027 will be hosted by Blue Knights Hungary III and will take place over the weekend of 23 to 25 April 2027 in Kalocsa. 24 April is also National Police Memorial Day in Hungary .
The outline programme for the weekend has already been agreed. Details on accommodation, registration, and further information will be added here as soon as they are confirmed.
Schedule
Friday, 23 April
Arrival of participants in Kalocsa and check-in at the hotels.
Get-together with a meet-and-greet meal in a local restaurant within walking distance of the town centre hotels. (There will be a cost involved)
Saturday, 24 April
Ride to Kalocsa Cathedral for a memorial service and bike blessing.
Followed by an escorted ride to Tolna County Police Headquarters in Szekszárd, welcome by the Chief of Police, and laying of a wreath in memory of fallen colleagues.
Ride back to Kalocsa. Some free time before the evening get-together at the BK Hungary III clubhouse with traditional Hungarian food and beverages. Transport to and from the clubhouse will be provided. (There will be a cost involved)
Sunday, 25 April
Departure following breakfast at the hotels. Escorted rides to the main onward routes can be given.
Good to know
Hungarian, German and English will be spoken on site.
The organising team is in contact with local hoteliers and hospitality businesses in Kalocsa; accommodation recommendations will be published on a flyer once confirmed.
Any profits made from this event will be donated to a Hungarian police charity.
